Biography:
In 2002/03 Enrico Sartori was at the Academy of the Teatro alla Scala of Milan. He was first solo flute of the Turin Youth Orchestra and in the Symphonic Orchestra of Piemonte, invited at the Young Euro Classic Festival 2003 in Berlin as the best Italian Youth Orchestra.
He is the winner of several competitions, both national and international, including highest first prize at XIV international competition Franz Schubert and the Cesare Ciardi prize at the XII Krakamp competition in 2000. In 2001, he won the highest first prize at the international competitions at Arenzano and Genova and in 2004 the highest first prize at the Festival Mid-South (USA).
He maintains an intensive concert schedule as a soloist in Italy and abroad, as well as collaborations with several orchestras. In 2002 he attended the Course of High Formation for Orchestral Players in the A. P. M. School of Saluzzo in collaboration with the RAI National Symphonic Orchestra.
Since 2003 he has pursued the Master of Music at Yale University in the United States, studying flute with Ransom Wilson. He attended several master-classes and courses with Emmanuel Pahud (2002, Accademia Chigiana, Siena) Peter Lukas Graf at the Perosi Academy in Biella (2002/03) Maxence Larrieu (2002, Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice), Meinhard Niedermayr (1999), Giuseppe Nova e Yoshimi Oshima (2002, Scuola Superiore di Musica di Aosta).
His repertoire includes the main works of the flute literature and ranges from baroque to contemporary. Several composers have dedicated and entrusted him with the first performance of their works. In 2004 he was invited at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival (U.S.A.)
Enrico Sartori was born in Turin, Italy on August 14, 1982. At the age of 3 he began studying the guitar and continued it, from the age of 10, at the Conservatorio in his city. In 1997 he began studying the flute, and in only 4 years, he graduated with full honours under Antonmario Semolini. In the same year he won the Giuseppe Berrino prize for best performer.
In 2002 he recorded his first CD for bm records.
Also an accomplished pianist in 1999, Mr Sartori received a piano certificate with full honours and he is frequently invited as a piano accompanist to singers and instrumentalists.
Since 2003 he enjoys a scholarship from the “De Sono – Music Association” of Turin financed by the Praemium Imperiale Grant for Young Artist (Japan).
