Name: Lihie Gendler Talmor
Nationality: Israeli, Venezuelan
Profession: Architect, Printmaker, Sculptor


Education:
B.Sc in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Technion, Haifa, Israel in 1969. B.A. in Poetics and Comparative Literature at the University of Tel-Aviv in 1971, where she teaches until 1974. In 1980, moves to Caracas, Venezuela and there enrolls at the Center of Studies for the Graphic Arts (CEGRA) from 1981 to 1983, and studies painting at Walter Margulis' studio.

 

Activity:

Since 1984 she has worked on art projects, taught and participated in courses in cultural centers and workshops in Italy, Belgium, the United States, Israel, Colombia and Venezuela.

Her first one woman show took place at the Félix Gallery, Caracas, in 1987. Since then her work has been shown in exhibitions in Venezuela and abroad.

Literature:

Since 1994 she has created several asrtist's books: Aguariacuar:The Departure, and the Creativity of Evil, both with texts by the Venezuelan poet Edda Armas. In 1999 Talmor participated in the international project "The Voyage", a book of prints and poems by Jewish Latin American artists and writers. Lihie Talmor continues to work in the fields of printmaking, painting, sculpture and installation.
